Who We Are
The Showers Christian and English Medium Learning Centre
The Showers Christian and English Medium Learning Centre
In the year 1999, Mrs. Motlatso E. Ditshego founded a Preschool and named it Rainbow Christian and English Medium Learning Centre (affectionately called Rainbow, then later The Bow). By the grace of God, because of the standard of education, a demand for a primary school was created hence the establishment of The Showers Christian and English Medium Learning Centre by Mrs. Daphney Marapyana in 2013.
In 2012, land was acquired by Mr. and Mrs. Marapyana in order to expand on what their daughter (Motlatso) had begun. The crèche at 840 Leokama Village, Moletjie officially opened in 2013 and the following year, a three classroom block was then built. In 2015, the school started with grades one, two and three and in the following year (2016), the school became a part of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and also welcomed its first Principal, Mr. Gerald. T. Rubaya.
The school grew and had to be extended with another block to accommodate the growth in enrolment. The first set of flushing toilets were built in early 2020 just before the global pandemic hit. By the grace of God, despite the harsh and hectic challenges that came with the global pandemic, a new project could be rolled out and a new block of classrooms came under construction at the school from August 2020.
The school had lost plenty of learners due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, however, things took better shape with the new year and everyone has been grateful. In February 2021, electricity was officially installed at the school and the new block was completed in April 2021. Celebrate!
